After all that work, there a small box on the market(Best Buy sells it)you take your S-video or compnent ou[puts from your player to the input of the box and the output of the box of course hooks up to recorder inputs. The audio outputs, whether fiber optics, or RCA jack go directly to the recorder from the player. The quality of the picture is as good as the original.The box is made by "SIMA" and it;s called GO DVD.It's amazing this $99 (which is legal under copyright laws you can make as many copies for your [ersonal use. I have lots of live concerts,which I rent or buy and make multiple copies, due to the fact that I don't my discs as carefully as they should be handled. I have1 recorder that can take the audio from a DVD and record it on a CD. This box made by SIMA records in NTSC format which is the standard for US and a list of other countries. The will also record in the PAL format, which is used in european countries.There is a list available indicating which format is applicable foe each country.
